Unlike traditional keyword-based search engines that match literal words, Exa uses transformer-based neural embeddings to understand the true semantic intent of search queries.
With Exa, developers can find web pages using natural language prompts ('here is a list of Nigerian fintech startups building cross-border remittance APIs') or retrieve pages that are semantically similar to an existing URL (`findSimilar`). Exa can also scrape and return the full parsed HTML or markdown content of resulting pages directly, saving developers from making secondary scraping calls.
