ALOC Nigeria Past Questions API
The ALOC (A Level of Confidence) API is a free REST API providing a large bank of Nigerian standardized examination past questions and answers — covering JAMB (UTME), WAEC, and NECO across most examinable subjects (English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government, Literature, and more) — built specifically for Nigerian edtech developers rather than adapted from a foreign question bank. Each question returns the question text, multiple-choice options, the correct answer, and often a brief explanation or the exam year it originated from.
Access requires a free API token obtained by signing up on the ALOC platform, after which requests can filter by subject, exam type (JAMB/WAEC/NECO), exam year, and question type. Random question retrieval supports building practice-quiz and CBT (computer-based test) simulation apps that mimic the real JAMB CBT experience Nigerian students sit for.
Given JAMB registers well over a million candidates annually and WAEC/NECO cover the entire Nigerian secondary school population, ALOC is widely used as the backing data source for Nigerian exam-prep apps, practice-quiz platforms, and CBT simulation tools — several popular Nigerian edtech startups build directly on top of it rather than sourcing and digitizing past questions themselves. The free tier has reasonable rate limits for a prototype or small app; the terms require attribution and prohibit reselling the raw question data as a standalone product.
